Dog grooming and daycare
Payment is due at time of service unless by prior arrangement.
If you need to cancel your appointment, please let me know asap (2hrs in advance or at the latest, by 3pm the day before your appointment time).
Failure to do this may result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the cancelled service, prepayment of your next appointment, or the inability to make a future booking.
If you do not show up to your appointment without letting me know, the full price of your appointment will be charged. This must be paid before any other appointments will be made.
Please let me know asap, if you will not be able to turn up to your appointment on time. While the utmost effort will be made to accept your dog for grooming, if you are too late, this may not allow enough time to complete your dog’s groom safely without running into the next booked client. If this occurs, you will have to re-book for your dog and this will be classified as a late cancellation, cancellation fees may apply.
While we try to be flexible with pick-up and drop-off times, please discuss with us at least the day before, any reason why you may not be able to pick your dog up promptly after your groom, or if you will need to drop off early. If your dog needs to stay for more than 30 minutes, daycare fees may apply. If you have an afternoon appointment, you will be informed when we are closing (generally 3pm) and asked to pick up promptly after the groom has been completed.
Pick-up after closing time may incur an additional late fee.
We highly recommend that all dogs are kept up to date with Vaccinations, and flea and worm treatments. Puppies are welcome to attend the salon once they have had two vaccination shots.
If it is discovered that your dog has fleas while with us, they will receive a flea bath to ensure the safety of all the dogs in the shop. This will incur a fee of $10.
It is recommended that your dogs are kept on a regular grooming schedule of 5-8 weeks. On top of this, home maintenance of the dog’s coat is essential.
Matting occurs when one or both of these are neglected. This can be extremely painful for the dogs. A matted coat prevents air from reaching the dog’s skin and may cause the dog to bite or scratch itself resulting in irritated skin that cannot heal properly. While the utmost care will be taken to remove matting for the dogs, these skin conditions can be revealed as part of the dematting process.
Due to the difficulty in removing matted coat a dematting fee of $80 per hour will be added to your grooming price. This helps cover the extra time and cost it takes to remove the matts. This will be discussed with you at check-in or as soon as we detect a problem.
The dematting process also increases the chances of your dog getting injured during the grooming process. Although rare, accidents can happen such as nicks and scrapes from the clippers.
We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason. In the event that the dog cannot be groomed safely without danger to us or the dogs in our care, preventative measures will be used first.
